Monika Tinneberg has been the driving force behind BodyWork for Women (and their Men) for over 30 years, offering treatments both from her home and while traveling to smaller communities. With decades of experience, she has developed a distinctive style that is both highly effective and profoundly relaxing.
Her approach is primarily influenced by Chinese Therapeutic Massage and Myofascial Release Therapy. While her treatments can be vigorous, they are also deeply sedating, as she skillfully coaxes larger muscle groups into releasing tension. By taking the time to work through contracted areas, she reaches deeper tissue layers without causing undue pain. This allows the body to fully relax, absorb the treatment, and achieve lasting relief—particularly beneficial for pain reduction, compacted joints, spinal and neck issues, and seized or contracted muscles.
Monika’s work is guided by an intuitive connection with the body, carefully listening to the feedback signals each client’s system provides. She knows when to ease off, when to go deeper, and when to return to an area, ensuring every session is tailored to the body's unique needs.
Her expertise is backed by extensive training with respected practitioners in the field. She studied Chinese Therapeutic Massage under Chongding Zhang, a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor and Chi Gong Master. She also apprenticed for a year with Bill Rhodenizer of Fascial North, an Ottawa-based physiotherapist specializing in Myofascial Release Therapy. Additionally, she has completed coursework in passive Myofascial Therapy through John Barnes’ seminarsand has trained with the Upledger Institute in lymphatic drainage, further complementing her skills through advanced studies with Janet McFarland of Cookstown Physiotherapy.
Monika’s unique blend of techniques, combined with her ability to tune into the body’s natural rhythms, makes her treatments an unparalleled experience—one that promotes deep healing, relaxation, and long-lasting results.
