Lactation Support Services
All lactation support services are offered by Josee Demitroff from Lactation for Leaps. Josee is a Lactation Consultant offering comprehensive breastfeeding classes, and lactation consultations in-clinic and at client homes. Virtual options are also availible based on client preference. Issues with breastfeeding and lactation are time-sensitive. Josee books lactation consultation appointments within 24-48 hours after request.
In-Clinic Lactation Consultation
When booked in advance of the appointment date, you will be contacted prior to appointment to discuss main concerns. During your 1 hour appointment a thorough health history for both Mom and baby will be discussed. A breast assessment, baby assessment and a nursing session will be completed. Assistance to correct latch and resolving issues will be done during and after the nursing session. A plan of care will be completed and when required, handouts will be provided to the client for reference. A courtesy follow-up phone call is included to ensure concerns have been resolved or are resolving.

Home Visit Lactation Consultation
Home visits range between 1-1.5 hours in the comfort of the client's home. You will be contacted prior to appointment to discuss main concerns. During the appointment a thorough health history for both Mom and baby will be discussed. A breast assessment, baby assessment and a nursing session will be completed. Assistance to correct latch and resolving issues will be done during and after the nursing session. A plan of care will be completed and when required, handouts will be provided to the client for reference.

Virtual Lactation Consultation
You will be contacted prior to appointment to discuss main concerns. During the appointment a thorough health history for both Mom and baby will be discussed. You will be walked through how to conduct a baby suck assessment and a nursing session will be completed. Assistance to correct latch and resolving issues will be done during and after the nursing session. A plan of care will be completed and when required, handouts will be provided to the client for reference.

The Leaps Package is here to start your lactation journey off on the right foot! This package includes a prenatal breast assessment and lactation/breastfeeding goal creation, 2 hour Breastfeeding Basics Online class and a postpartum home visit scheduled at your convenience. Breastfeeding Basics Online Class
Feel prepared to feed your little one from their first day! This comprehensive two hour breastfeeding class offered on Zoom will break down all the breastfeeding basics, possible difficulties and how to avoid them. You will learn how to latch baby, how to know your baby is getting enough, how to safely build a freezer stash and everything in between!
Feel free to have a partner or friend tag along to help educate and prepare your postpartum support team!
